SoCal Baptist Ministries is a religious nonprofit organization focused on providing small missions and ministry grants to California Southern Baptist churches and their related organizations and entities.
Our mission is to empower Southern Baptist mission and ministry projects in California that will in turn reach people for Christ and strengthen the sponsoring church or ministry.
Our grants are funded by the earnings from an endowment created and managed by The Baptist Foundation of California when the Norwalk Christian Towers retirement center was sold in 2013. That retirement center was constructed in the 1970's on property adjacent to the First Baptist Church of Norwalk. (See History)
These grants are only made to Southern Baptist churches and affiliated organizations that have a 501(c)(3) designation with the IRS.
To be considered for a SoCal grant, your church needs to be an annual financial contributor to the Cooperative Program of the California Southern Baptist Convention.
Out of our desire to serve as many ministries as possible, grants are now limited to 2 per church per year.
Grants are normally made for the following types of projects.
-- Evangelistic Outreach Projects or Events
-- Ministry Outreach Projects or Events
-- Missions Projects or Events
-- Disaster Relief Efforts
-- Hunger Relief Efforts
