Miller’s MotoGP lifeline confirmed
Jack Miller will remain in MotoGP for an eleventh season after signing a one year deal with Yamaha’s incoming Satellite Pramac team.
The news of the Aussies signing ahead of this weekend’s Emilia-Romagna GP also completes the MotoGP grid for 2025, with Miller to ride the Factory 2025 YZR-M1 alongside Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira.
With the lifeline becoming rumoured some weeks ago, it also puts a line through the slim chance that fellow Aussie Remy Gardner had of rejoining the premier grid from World SuperBikes after making some fill-in appearances for the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team.
The initial talk around the grid was that Yamaha would elevate a Moto2 talent, but his experience is thought to be a key factor in getting things over the line as Pramac begin their new affiliation after two-decades with Ducati.
Whilst Miller has been in the Pramac sheds before when it was a Ducati outfit, he has also raced for Honda and his current team KTM, taking four wins and 23 podiums across 164 starts.
The unashamedly outspoken rider says that he wasn’t ready to leave MotoGP, citing that he had “unfinished business”.
“I feel like I still have some unfinished business here and I wasn’t ready to pack up my bat and ball and go home,” Miller said.
“I’m extremely grateful to Yamaha for this opportunity and I really look forward to seeing what things are going to happen in the future.”
Yamaha boss Lin Jarvis says that Miller’s experience will be a welcome asset to the new satellite squad.
“We are happy to announce that Jack is joining Prima Pramac Racing’s line-up, and we warmly welcome him to the Yamaha MotoGP group,” Jarvis said.
“With 10 years of experience in the MotoGP class with three different manufacturers, Jack will be a valuable asset for Yamaha. His speed, knowledge, work ethic, and team spirit will be invaluable to our project as we plan to improve the performance of the M1 in 2025 and beyond.
“Yamaha will be supporting him in every way they can.”
