Targett

By Thomas Miles

Grove Racing junior Oscar Targett will be looking to continue making a name for himself by stepping up to Carrera Cup Australia.

Targett will take on the series with Earl Bamber Motorsport in a bright new livery.

The teenager comes in with plenty of confidence after winning the Porsche Sprint Challenge title in dominant style.

The Grove Junior Program member has karting experience in Europe but is hoping to carry on his trajectory from to eventually Supercars down the track.

Targett is looking forward to his next challenge.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the ongoing support from the Grove Junior Team and excited for the challenge of Carrera Cup Australia,” he said.

“It’s a great opportunity to develop my skills further with Earl Bamber Motorsport and continue to utilise the resources and experience of the Grove Junior Team.

“I am very excited to have new partners, Street Machine Garage and Shure join me for this vital step in my career and with the return of Brisbane Caravan Warehouse along with many other long-time supporters, I’m ready for the next step and look forward to what 2025 holds.”

Carrera Cup is one of the number of support categories that will start its 2025 season alongside Supercars at Sydney this weekend.

Grove Racing Team Principal David Cauchi feels Targett is ready for the next level.

“We are thrilled that Oscar will be remaining within the Grove Junior Team for 2025. He has demonstrated consistent improvement and dedication, and this next step to Carrera Cup Australia is a testament to his hard work.

“We have no doubt he will continue to develop as a driver and move closer to achieving his long term goals.”

Three Carrera Cup races will be on show at Sydney Motorsport Park.
