Quinn Foundation member gets European shot

With help from the Tony Quinn Foundation, Zack Scoular is looking forward to taking his career to the next level in Europe.
Scoular will take on the Eurocup-3 Series for the first time this year with the season kicking off at the prestigious Red Bull Ring on May 16-18 with Palou Motorsport.
The young flying Kiwi has already made waves in the open-wheel scene having impressed in the Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship over the summer.
He finished second in the standings only to Red Bull backed junior Arvid Lindblad.
As he begins his dream of taking on the best in Europe, Scoular feels his successful summer racing against the likes of Pat Heuzenroeder, Tommy Smith, Will Brown and Broc Feeney will put him in good stead for the next chapter.
“I am extremely proud of what I was able to achieve in CTFROC, and to be able to do it at home was extra special,” he said.
“The grid was extremely strong, so I definitely proved myself against the best. Heading into Europe, it has shown that I have the potential and ability to be at the front.
“We decided on Eurocup-3 because it is where I will be able to learn the most. The grid is the strongest in Europe outside of FIA Formula 3, so it is definitely a place where I can grow and develop as a driver.”
Having already taken part in the recent Winter series where he recorded a best result of 16th, Scoular already feels settled at Palou Motorsport which is run by IndyCar star Alex Palou.
“The vibe with Palou Motorsport has been great, and I’ve been settling in very well. The ethos of the team is built around ‘family’. The team has the passion to win. Palou makes himself personally available to help coach and develop the drivers. I’ve really enjoyed working with Alex and the team and look forward to the year ahead.
“The Eurocup-3 car has definitely taken a lot of adjusting to after coming out of CTFROC.
“This has included learning how to use ‘push to pass’, adjusting to more downforce, racing on Grade 1 Formula 1 tracks, and driving on a different tyre.
“I am really enjoying the characteristics of the Eurocup-3 car and the championship. The tracks are awesome.
“The Tony Quinn Foundation has provided phenomenal support. Obviously, there’s the financial side — but the support, advice, and coaching from Tony, Josie, Daniel, Greg, John, and Steve has been invaluable. They generously provide their time to help me grow and learn. I am proud to be associated with, and an ambassador of, the Tony Quinn Foundation.”
